Your client needs your expertise in recommending the appropriate accounting treatment based on guidance issued by the FASB. The scope of your engagement is as follows: 1. Read the client case carefully and identify key facts and accounting issues to evaluate. 2. Research the situation your client faces by using the FASB Accounting Standards Codification. Respond to the issues addressed in the case by your client through research and qualitative analysis. Deliberate the issues with your team and to determine appropriate GAAP. Reference the FASB ASC topics impacting the case analysis. If a related topic in the FASB Codification has multiple criteria that must be considered, list and evaluate each criteria related to the case. If you quote a phrase directly from these resources, include the related reference in parenthesis such as (ASC XXX-XX-XX) 3. Prepare a Powerpoint presentation and present your team research to the class. Teams should use Powerpoint to summarize their research. Plan on 7-8 minutes for the presentation and 3-4 minutes for questions for a total time of 10-12 minutes per team. Rehearse your presentation to be the most effective when presenting. Presentations will be graded based on substance (technical content, recommendations, accuracy and completeness) and form (delivery, clarity, professionalism, appropriate length, organization) 4. Prepare your recommendations, citations and analysis of the case. Prepare the response to the case in a short business analysis/report format, including an executive summary.
