Your company in the industry referenced in your team Discussion Board introduction is trying to stay ahead of the competition. Top management has chosen your group of brilliant employees to come up with 3 ideas for giving the company a competitive edge in the future. You will start with brainstorming as a group. Here are the rules for brainstorming: https://www.isixsigma.com/tools-templates/brainstorming/brainstorming-rules/ So, being creative, this is the future (lets say about 5 years out.) If your expertise is in Marketing, offer up some ideas in that realm, if your expertise is in IT, computers or tech, offer ideas from that area. The same if you are a consumer, come up with ideas that you would love to have. And go outside your comfort zone. Produce a 10 15 ideas, and each of you write your own reactions to how the brainstorming went. If there were issues, let the rest of the group know before moving on to the next section. Week 2 Now, as a group decide on one idea you will work on, not negating the others, which might be considered later. To decide, be sure to have everyone give input into how they could contribute to refining this idea. You want to pick an idea that everyone feels they can contribute to on this assignment. Flesh out your chosen idea with a simple project plan, think about who else you will need, what talents and expertise will be needed to develop the idea. This does not need to be elaborate. I want to know: People, Procedures, Data, Software and Hardware Ideas that you will need. You will note I put them in the opposite order from the first chapter. Once your project plan is created by the whole group, post it at the end of the discussion group. Part 2: Individual summary Then prepare your individual summary. For this I want to know what worked for your group and what wasnt that great. I want to find out in your summary what you learned about the process and even how you would improve it next time. At no point mention names, this is about the process not the individuals.
