He hired some office staff to work in his company and also provided them training. He has capitalized the training cost of the staff members in his Financial Statements. He has also carried out promotional activities to attract new customers and capitalized the adverting and promotion in the Balance Sheet. He purchased some equipment and recorded the equipment at the market value in his books. Some of the equipment which he purchased 2 years ago became outdated but he did not made any adjustments to reflect this in his books. One of his machine got damaged due to accidental fire but he did not make any adjustments for that in the financial statements. Mr. Karim has recorded his own company's Goodwill by calculating the value of its net assets. Requirement Mr. Karim is your friend and he knows that you have an Accounting major from Southeast University so he is seeking your advice on dealing with the above business issues appropriately.
