Your organization is going through a major renovation. The IT department has been asked to develop a budget for refurbishing the existing computer network. This includes both network devices and workstations as detailed below. The company currently has 75 employees and is fully computerized and networked. The current network consists of CAT5e cabling (which will not be changed) with six switches and three routers. There are two servers, each server has its own backup system.

Note: Laptops cost $800 each, desktop work stations cost $600 each. Macintosh desktop computers cost $1200 each. The organization will get 10% discount for each( Laptop, Desktop and Macintosh desktop) comuters.

1. Both servers will be upgraded to 30TB RAID arrays. The cost will be $1800 each.
2. Both server backup systems will be upgraded to match the capacity of the new arrays. The cost will be $1800 each.
3. The Design department has six designers. Two of them have recent Macintosh desktop computers. The others need to be replaced. There is also a manager and an administrative assistant in Design who need replacement desktop computers.
4. The Marketing department has six employees who work with clients on the clients' sites so they require new laptops. There is also a manager and an administrative assistant in Marketing who need replacement desktop computers.
5. The Administration department has the President, two vice presidents and three administrative assistants. All need new desktop work stations.
6. The IT department has three employees. All three use standard desktop work stations which need to be upgraded.
7. The Fabricating department has the rest of the employees. There are two work shifts in Fabricating so one work station is required for every two employees. Each shift has a shift supervisor. The department also has an administrative assistant. The shift supervisors share a work station, the administrative assistant has their own work station. All work stations in Fabricating need to be replaced.
8. Four of the switches will be upgraded at a cost of $80 each
9. Two of the routers will be upgraded at a cost of $800 each.
10. In addition to equipment costs your budget must also include installation costs. The average IT salary is $29.50 per hour. IT staff are paid time-and-a-half (1 times regular salary) after 37.5hours in a week. No IT person can work more than 44hours in any one week.
    1. Replacing one laptop requires 30minutes for one IT person on average.
    2. Replacing one work station requires 60minutes for one IT person on average.
    3. Replacing one switch requires twohours for two IT people on average. Replacing a switch has to be done on weekends. Replace only two switches in one weekend. Switches cannot be replaced on the same weekend as routers.
    4. Replacing one router requires threehours for two IT people on average. Replacing a router has to be done on weekends. Replace only one router in one weekend. Routers cannot be replaced on the same weekend as switches.
