Your post was informative and well-organized. I was encouraged to read a post from someone who was able to visit a law library. Your experience was so much more enriching than mine. I live in a rural part of central Kansas. I thought that I would have trouble visiting a law library near me. However, I found, after investigating, that we have a law library in our small rural community. I enjoyed reading about your positive experience with your visit. My visit was mostly positive. I, however, was disappointed to find our law library consists of one 3-ring binder of local government laws. While there, I ran into the now-retired sheriff, who told me that it made him sad to see this notebook was all that was there. He shared that the law library used to be a large room of law books housed in the basement of the county jail. He and I both questioned where all of those law books and resources went. I plan to inquire more about that in the future.
I too find it intriguing that the library you visited had so many computers. I wonder if this was because so much of the legal resources and research online is subscription-based. Many of the law libraries I researched provide these law subscriptions, like Nexis and Westlaw, through their libraries. So I wonder if this is why you found so many computers?
Again, good job on your post!
