Your project team is driving you nuts. You all agreed to use Google docs to post one version of the weekly assignment, which each person could then review, contribute to and edit throughout the week. This way, you would all be working on the same document, avoiding multiple versions. But it has been a disaster. One member, Bao is consistently late in adding her contributions, often providing new information right before the weekly deadline, which gives no one time to review it. Another member, Jacob, keeps editing over other people's work, replacing it with his own. Then, in your last meeting, tempers erupted when the fourth member, Ian, started yelling at Bao and Jacob, claiming that they were both inconsiderate and didn't care about the team. You have some sympathy for his frustration. You work full time, have a family and still manage to put in many hours a week on the group work - far more, you suspect, than Bao, or, for that matter, Ian, who seems to spend more time complaining about the group than working.
Focusing on what you have learned about Teams and Interpersonal Conflict (though drawing from other topic areas as well where appropriate), answer the following two questions
1. Analyze what is happening in this group. That is, how would you characterize the conflict they are experiencing? What might be contributing to it?
2. What might you do to improve the situation, and why?
