Youve graduated from a renowned university and have passed your CPA exam. Youve also gone into the health field and done very well. You were recently hired by a large hospital and have been designated as the Chief Administrator for the hospital. As part of your responsibilities, you have final and sole responsibility for approving all surgeries in the hospital. Recently, you were advised of the following situation: A month ago, a person was brought into the hospital for consultation with your top surgeon. This patient is a top international model and makes a great deal of money modeling swimsuits and leisure apparel. Because of the patients status and your responsibility to approve all surgeries in the hospital, you sat in on all meetings. Based on the patients history and circumstances, the surgeon advised the patient that they would need surgery for their condition. However, the patient was advised that the surgery would leave a visible scar. The patient declined the surgery telling the surgeon that the scar would ruin their modeling career and that they would rather take the chance with their condition than destroy their future career. You just got a call that the patient discussed above was just wheeled into the hospitals emergency room, unconscious from a car accident. The patient has no visible injuries, but the surgeon has advised you that, without surgery, the patient may die. Knowing the history, you asked the surgeon if the operation would leave a visible scar and the surgeon answered yes. You now have to make a decision as to whether to approve the surgery or not. The surgeon has advised you that it is likely that the patient wont awake from their coma in time to be advised of the situation. In short, the surgery is needed urgently. Identify the ethical issue(s) you, as the hospital administrator, face. Once you identify the issues, indicate how you would resolve those issue(s) in one or two sentences. For the above case study, very good points will depend on how well you both identify and respond to the ethical issues presented in the case study. Please remember to reference the materials that you're using (either videos, papers or the book) to support your statements. You don't have to use any formal reference format. I just want to know that your statements are not based on just your opinion. For instance, you could make a statement and then put into parentheses "Corporate Monopolies and Global Culture". You don't need to reference the point in the video. It will help if you reference the page in the book, but otherwise, just a reference to the paper or video you're using as a basis for your opinion is all that's needed
