Zanele has been working as a receptionist at an accountancy firm for the past ten years. She used to be very happy working there especially as her boss, Butch, was very understanding and accommodating over the years. Butch sent Zanele on a number of training courses overtime and he ensured that Zanele receives a raise every year. When Zanele was in a car accident a few years ago, Butch arranged for a low interest loan to pay for damages. A special bond was formed between Zanele and Butch as he also showed interest in her children's progress at school and gave her time off to attend the children's sporting events. Butch as an accountant helped with her income tax returns and regularly gave Zanele free advice on investments. Zanele trusted Butch completely with advice on her financial affairs. Zanele as a single mother adored the ever attentive and sympathetic Butch and came to view him as her personal life coach. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic Zanele not only had to work online from home but also had to homeschool her three children. She battled to cope and started to fear that she may lose her job. On top of that she developed an irrational fear of contracting the virus and dying, constantly wondering what would happen to her children should she pass away causing her severe mental stress. When Zanele shared her fears with Butch he told her that he will protect her from losing her job. Butch father assured her that he will ensure that her children will be taken care off, should she die. A very sympathetic Butch further convinced Zanele to sign documents to transfer her house into his name. He told the distraught Zanele that having the house in his name will make it easier for him to make sure her children will have a roof over their heads should Zanele contract and succumb to COVID-19. A grateful Zanele signed the contract to transfer her house. Zanele thankfully never contacted COVID-19 and six months later she's back to her former happy self after having received two Pfizer vaccine shots. she is not coping well with the online work and home schooling. Zanele is very surprised when she receives a visit from an estate agent, asking to view Mr Butcher's house that he intends selling. Zanele then realises that she never intended giving her house to Butch for free.
