Pair up with another individual. Find something that you disagree on (politics, taxes, music, pop culture, etc.). Allow one of the partners to describe his/her point of view for three minutes. After stating each case, the other person will paraphrase his/her viewpoint in a nonjudgmental manner. Remember, you are talking only to ensure the other person that you are listening and proactively trying to understand his/her viewpoint. After three minutes, reverse the roles.
