In a data set on this book’s Web site named Mireault.dat and described in Appendix Data Set, Mireault and Bond (1992) collected data from college students on the effects of the death of a parent. Leaving the critical variables aside for a moment, let’s look at the distribution of students. The data set contains information on the gender of the students and the college (within the university) in which they were enrolled.
