A survey was conducted in which people were asked their religious affiliations and also asked whether they regarded preservation of the natural environment as a top-priority issue. Of thirty-three protestants surveyed, ten rated the environment as a top priority; the same was true of nine out of nineteen catholics, four out of ten moslems, and twenty-eight out of forty-one atheists.
