The Palm Beach County, Florida, library system has a dozen different branches. The management was in the process of deciding where to place a new library. The choices  are near several “Over 55” communities (people over 55 years of age) or where young families with children are located. To understand more about their customers, a random sample of people who borrowed at least one book during the previous 12 months was drawn. The number of books borrowed, their ages, and the distance to the nearest library (in miles) were recorded. Conduct a multiple regression analysis.

a. Is there sufficient evidence that older Floridians borrow more books than younger ones?

b. Can we infer that distance to the library is a factor in determining the number of books borrowed?
