The data shown in Table 2.16 are a part of a larger body of data collected by the Florida Attorney General’s Office in a attempt to relate the incidence of drug seizures and drug arrests to the characteristics of the Florida counties. They show the number y of drug arrests per county in 1982, the density x1 of the county (population per square mile), and the number x2 of law enforcement employees. In order to simplify the calculations, we show data for only ten counties.
