We have slightly more control in a quasiexperimental study than in a correlational study because we typically introduce some sort of treatment. However, because participants come to us as members of either the control or the “experimental” group, we cannot conclude that the independent variable definitely caused changes in the dependent variable, as we can when using a true experimental design.
