The ABC model of behavior modification is built on the notion that the supervisor can use antecedents (those things that precede behavior) and consequences (the results of behavior) to condition desirable behavior or to extinguish undesirable behavior. The use of extinction, positive reinforcement, punishment, and negative reinforcement can make specific behavior occur more or less often.
