The information in Table 16.4 is for three companies that share the same service shed for air quality regulation and water provisioning ecosystem services. Within this service shed also lies 1500 acres of public land. Assume that all the land in the service shed has a carrying capacity of 1.5 L of H₂0/acre for water provisioning and 0.15 kg of SO₂/acre and 0.1 kg of NO_x/acre for air quality regulation services.

1.Calculate the sustainability metric of all activities in the serviceshed without allocation. This approach is equivalent to calculating metrics at the scale of the serviceshed. 

2. Now calculate sustainability metrics for each company in the serviceshed using monetary allocation. 

3. Repeat the previous part with allocation in proportion to the demand for ecosystem services. 

4. Discuss the effect of these allocation approaches on the sustainability of each company.
