Now look for individuals who rank high on both. If you sorted them into groups, identify those who are both in the high passion group and the “closely related to your start-up” group. I did this exercise for forty of my Facebook friends chosen at random and was surprised to discover three potential collaborators of whom I hadn’t previously thought, one of whom I would seriously consider as a potential cofounder for a new venture.

If you meet someone both passionate and perseverant about any activity, even one very different from yours, take note. That person probably knows a lot and is bound for success in their field. Keep in touch with them. You might someday want to collaborate with or invest in them.
