The Tonto Company requires 25,000 collars as shown in Figure CS-31. They are to be made from AISI 304 (18-8) stainless steel by machining on a screw machine using transfer and slotting attachments. 2. Outline the sequence of steps needed to produce this part on a screw machine from |-in. stainless steel bar that would serve to eliminate the burrs. It is helpful to show the part progression.
3. Determine two other practical ways of making these collars. Estimate the cost of these alternative methods versus the screw machine method.
