Question:
Two examples of police corruption as it relates to drugs are police violence such as using excessive force and falsifying reports or not reporting evidence such as drugs or money confiscated. Also policemen/ law officials fall under circumstances of bribery like getting paid by drug dealers for not arresting them and or feeding them information on upcoming drug busts. The strategies that agencies are implementing to combat corruption in the United States or other countries are more training and adequate selecting and screening of police academy candidates. During screening for the selection process, if a candidate shows signs of corrupt forceful tendencies, or racism, they will not select them to be candidates. Also officers continuously go through training to show how they are expected to behave and react to different situations. Law officers are even required to engage in the community and learn their surroundings so they will be able to empathize and understand their community's struggles to better access a situation when one occurs.
