Vertically polarized light of intensity I0 is incident on a stack of N ideal polarizing sheets whose angles with respect to the vertical are θn = nπ/2N. Determine the direction of polarization of the transmitted light and its intensity. Show that as N → ∞ the direction of polarization is rotated without loss of intensity.
