I hereby agree to sell to R. Paulo my entire fleet of Rolls Royces for the sum of $1 million. This offer is open until Friday June 9, 2000, at 9:00 a.m.
On Thursday, June 8, Gaff decided to sell the cars to his well-to-do neighbour instead. Paulo heard about the alleged sale later that same day and rushed over to Gaff’s house, stating that she wished to accept Gaff’s offer. Gaff smiled and said “Sorry, you’re too late. I’ve sold to someone else.
Is Gaff obligated to keep the offer open until the specified time? What could Paulo have done to better protect her position?
