Optimal enzymatic conversion of the Shea tree into ethanol occurs when the cellulose content is maximized and lignin content is minimized (“Optimization of Pretreatment Conditions Using Full Factorial Design and Enzymatic Convertibility of Shea Tree Sawdust,” Biomass and Bioenergy, 2013: 130–138).
