a. Translate the following paragraph into a text message:

“My bus is stuck in traffic and will be about 20 minutes late. I’ll meet you for coffee at the Tim Hortons restaurant at the corner of Princess Street and William Avenue.”

Compare your answer with those of several other students in the class. What differences do you notice in the way that people have abbreviated various parts of the message? What, if any, potential difficulties could this present?

b. Write the message a second time, this time assuming that the reader is a business client. Compare the two messages for style, grammar, and tone.
