As mentioned in Chapter 1, be mindful of your own communicative behaviors. Pay attention and note how your communicative behavior is driven by your level of individualism–collectivism. For example, how do you feel when your roommates and friends are unusually quiet? You may even ask them what’s wrong. Notice that silence seems wrong to you.
