Intercultural business communication takes on many roles in the world. One that the United States is currently living in is the Iraq situation. Many U.S. businesses have signed contracts to provide services in Iraq to the Iraqi government or the U.S.

military forces. The U.S. civilians who take these positions do so, for the most part, for the money because they are paid more than twice what they would be paid in the United States for the same type of work. If you chose to take one of these positions, what would you want to know, how would you prepare for the welcoming and/or the hatred you would experience, and what characteristics that you possess would be strengths or weaknesses? Do you feel that foreign workers in Iraq should train an Iraqi to replace them? What are the intercultural relationship problems in this current situation?
