This chapter is about how the human brain takes in, stores, and retrieves information and how culture affects that process. Another step toward developing intercultural competence is to understand that humans are biased processors of information. We are not objective processors. Once you understand that people from different cultures process information differently than do you, you can begin to adjust and adapt your communication, which leads to competence.
