6. Short Informative Talk to Introduce Speaker or Award Winner. For this assignment each student will give a short (3- to 5-minute) talk to introduce a member of the class as either a speaker or an award winner. First, choose a classmate (by any method your instructor suggests). Then exchange resumes with that person. Confer with each other to get acquainted.

You may each assume that your classmate is a speaker about a certain topic at a meeting of a business, professional, campus, or other club of which you are both members. You have been chosen to introduce him or her. If you prefer, instead of introducing your classmate as a speaker, you may assume you were asked to present him or her with an award.

Whichever specific purpose you choose for your talk, select from your classmate’s resume at least four pertinent facts—with his or her approval.
