Plot the following points: (a) (3, 4), (b) (5, 2), (c) (6, 3), (d) (0, 4), (e)
Question:
Plot the following points:
(a) (3, 4),
(b) (5, −2),
(c) (−6, 3),
(d) (0, −4),
(e) (−7, 0),
(f) (−8, −2), (g)
(2, −3), (h) (−5, −4).
(a) To plot (3, 4), move 3 units to the right of the origin, then 4 units up, as in Fig. 2-11.
(b) To locate (5, −2), move 5 units to the right of the origin, then 2 units down as in Fig. 2-11.
(c) To find (−6, 3), move 6 units to the left, 3 units up.
(d) To plot (0, −4), make no movement horizontally along the x axis, simply move 4 units down.
(e) For (−7, 0), move 7 units to the left and stop, making no movement vertically along the y axis.
For (f), (g), and (h), see Fig. 2-11.
