In 2019, a federal judge who had found that PG&E was not taking the necessary steps to fix its natural gas lines following a 2010 explosion of a gas pipe in San Bruno, California, ordered its board of directors to pay an onsite visit to the former town of Paradise to see the devastation caused by the Camp Fire.127 The judge said, “There is a very clear-cut pattern here—
