2. Go to a drugstore or other retailer that sells cosmetics and toiletries, and choose two brands of a similar item, such as lipstick or toothpaste.
Compare the list of ingredients for the two brands. Are there some of the same ingredients in both? Are they in the same relative position in the list of ingredients, indicating their predominance in the formula? Write down the names of two or three ingredients that you are unfamiliar with, and research them to find out what they are and what they do. Share your results with the class.
