3. Record the transactions in either the general journal, starting on page 27, or the purchases journal, on page 6, as appropriate.
Post the entries to the creditors’ accounts in the accounts payable ledger immediately after you make each journal entry.
Post the entries in the Other Accounts Debit column of the purchases journal and in the general journal immediately after you make each of those journal entries.
In the space below the purchases journal, show proof that the sum of the debit totals equals the total of the Accounts Payable Credit column.
Post the totals of the special columns of the purchases journal at the end of the month.
Prepare a schedule of accounts payable, and compare the balance of the Accounts Payable controlling account with the total of the schedule of accounts payable.
