Some individuals choose piracy—a form of unauthorized duplication and/or distribution of music, soft ware, art, or other copyrighted material, which includes downloading and file sharing. Some argue that piracy does not aff ect a product maker’s revenues because pirates might actually help promote the product they steal by the buzz they generate. Furthermore copying or downloading a product does not present a financial loss to the product maker because the pirate would probably not buy the product in the first place.
