14.46 [EX14-46] According to the March 10, 2005, USA Today article titled “Electronic world swallows up kids’ time, study finds,” U.S. children are spending an average of approximately 6.5 hours a day watching television, using the computer, or enjoying other electronic activities. The average amount of time 8- to 18-year-olds spend playing video games is given as 49 minutes per day. Suppose twenty 8- to 18-year-olds were randomly selected and monitored for a day, with the number of minutes they spent playing video games that day being recorded. The resulting sequence of times is given in ascending order of participant’s age:

a. Determine the median and the number of runs above and below the median.

b. Use the runs test at 5% level of significance to test these data for randomness about the median.
