14.87 [EX14-87] Every year before the college football season starts, Sports Illustrated presents its college football preview and ranks the top 25 teams based primarily on scouting reports. As the season progresses, other college football polls provide a weekly ranking of the teams, evaluations that are largely influenced by how well the teams are playing and who they play against. Using the 2002 rankings, let’s investigate the similarity, or lack of similarity, of the Sports Illustrated preseason, USA Today/ESPN, and AP Top 25 polls.
