Calculations with Female Body Measurements

a. If using Excel 2013, 2010, or 2007, click on Data, then Data Analysis; if using Excel 2003, click on Tools, then Data Analysis. (Be sure that Data Analysis has been installed as described in this section.)

b. Click on Descriptive Statistics; then click OK.

c. In the dialog box, enter B2: B41 for the input range (which corresponds to the pulse rates of the 40 females). Click on the box next to “Summary statistics,” and then click OK. What are the values displayed for the mean, range, minimum, maximum, sum, and count? Interpret each of these values by describing what they represent.
