Consider the discrete time model with two (and then three) periods. (a) For linear marginal abatement cost
Question:
Consider the discrete time model with two (and then three) periods.
(a) For linear marginal abatement cost -C'(E)= a-bE and linear marginal damage D'(S)=d.S calculate the optimal emission path.
(b) Distinguish the two cases where ST is bounded, and where there is no constraint on ST. Assume that a=10, b=1, d=0.10, r=0.05, and β=0.05. Let S0=5 (and then S0=15). Calculate the optimal emission paths for T=10 (and then T=100), for unconstrained ST as well as for ST=10.
