Divide the class into groups of four or five students

(depending on class size). Assign one pattern of departmentation to each group (assign two to each if the class is small). The groups should discuss

(a) the nature of the assigned departmentation,

(b) companies that use this departmental arrangement, and

(c) the advantages and disadvantages of this form of departmentation.
