Quality is interesting; a debate is underway right now. Mainstream media (MSM) initially claimed that political blogs were of poor quality.

The bloggers responded, “No, way—if I publish junk, other bloggers will be all over it in a matter of hours. It’s much easier to publish rubbish in a newspaper than in a blog.” It’s debatable whether or not that occurred, but, given the popularity of blogs, many MSM publications have incorporated blogs into their publications.
