6. Increased inequality a global phenomenon The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

held a conference in the summer of 2011 on economic inequality. In a backgrounder to the conference, it published data on changes in the distribution of income over the previous 25 years. Inequality increased in almost all countries but decreased in the world as a whole.
