A description of the activities of the Streets and Parkways Department is as follows.

The function of the department is to assist in preserving the city’s infrastructure by maintaining the streets, parkways, bridges, and levees in Bacchus City. These tasks consist primarily of caring for the grass and trees on the levees and parkways, filling potholes, inspecting and making minor repairs to the bridges, and replacing damaged traffic lights. Because of the growth of the city, new streets have been built in outlying areas and certain levees have been raised. The care of these new streets and levees puts a severe strain on the existing work crews’ ability to maintain all of the city’s infrastructure adequately.
