British Television (A. Kemble) Granada Group Ltd. was founded in the 1930s, when the present chairman opened his first movie theater in London, England. Since then the company has grown steadily and diversified throughout the leisure-communication field. Sales in 1977 exceeded £100 million and net income was £10 million.

The company has five main divisions:
