“And . . . they’re offering transportation reimbursement for local employees and free bus tokens for the employees they recruit from the suburbs,” said the front-office manager. “We’ve got to raise our employees’ pay, or we won’t be able to keep anyone. I say forget any increases in our benefits package this year. We’ve got to raise our hourly rates because this community has a labor shortage.”
