Equality and diversity initiatives.
1. Draw up a list of the initiatives designed to address equality and diversity in your organisation (if you work full-time or part-time) or in an organisation with which you are familiar (if you are a full-time student). Your list does not need to be exhaustive, but try to include initiatives additional to the examples already given.

2. Which of the initiatives have arisen because of legal requirements and which have been introduced out of choice (i.e. voluntarily)?

3. Select one or two of those initiatives that have been introduced voluntarily and assess the influences that led to the initiatives being adopted. These could be internal or external pressures.
