With a friend, separately prepare one or two open-ended questions about a similar topic, like where you each went on holiday. After one or two closed questions to get basic facts, you put an open-ended question about the topic, followed by supplementaries to develop your knowledge and understanding. Now swap roles and repeat. Discuss with each other what you feel you have learned from this exercise about your use of different types of questioning.
