Presidential libraries are now very geographically decentralized with each former president establishing a separate library serving both as an archive and a museum. Some experts have suggested that a central depository for presidential records would be a better approach to meeting the information needs of scholars.33 For a researcher working on a project that spans several presidential administrations, more centralized presidential libraries would seem to be a better approach.
