3. As a representative of your school, offer to make a presentation at a local library or community center on a topic of interest to the public. You might choose a topic related to your school and its activities, such as academic or athletic programs, clubs and other activities, the arts (a planned theater production), diversity among students, or contributing factors for your school’s excellence. Or you could suggest a topic that interests you and that you think would interest others. Plan and prepare for the presentation, rehearsing in front of your classmates. Using their feedback, adjust your graphic aids and delivery. If you can get permission from a person in authority, deliver the presentation at the library or community center. Otherwise, deliver the presentation to your classmates.
