The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that there were 3206 fatal accidents involving drivers between the ages of 15 and 19 years old the previous year, of which 65.5% involved male drivers. Of the male drivers, 18.4% involved drinking, while of the female drivers, 10.8% involved drinking.
