In Chapter 1 reference was made to a survey undertaken by the author into the use of quantitative techniques by businesses. One of the questions in the survey asked whether businesses were using such techniques, with responses as either yes or no. The survey was undertaken across three countries independently: Denmark, UK and Scotland. Part of the survey also determined the size of the companies, measured by number of employees. The data has been analysed and the relevant computer output is as follows:
