Question:

Suppose you wish to compare the reaction times of people exposed to six different stimuli. A reaction time measurement is obtained by subjecting a person to a stimulus and then measuring the time until the person presents some specified reaction. The objective of the experiment is to determine whether differences exist in the reaction times for the stimuli used in the experiment. To eliminate the person-to-person varia- tion in reaction time, four persons participated in the experiment and each person's reaction time (in seconds) was measured for each of the six stimuli. The data are given in Table 15.10 (ranks of the observations are shown in parentheses). Use the Friedman F, test to determine whether the data present sufficient evidence to indicate differences in the distributions of reaction times for the six stimuli. Test using a = 0.05.
