4. What's Wrong with This Economic Experiment?

A researcher hypothesizes that the medical attention received by U.S. citizens is inadequate because many people cannot afford medical care. He interviews 1 00 randomly selected individuals and asks them, "Would you use physician services or hospital and nursing home medical facilities more if they were not so expensive?"

Ninety-six of the 1 00 answer in the affirmative. The researcher concludes that there is a critical need to allocate more resources to the provision of free medical care for all citizens.
